Cap Proffitt won The Vintage Pontiac Peddlers Auto Cross event driving their '64 GTO ....
...and Robin competed in the same event driving their 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe.
Robin Reports: "Cap is a seasoned veteran of the Autocross (second time) and this was my first time as driver through an Autocross SCCA course. I am so amazed at the performance and handling of that little car! 22 seconds was my time while sliding sideways and braking through the turns. What a RUSH! I am now ready to TOKYO DRIFT :>)."
Member Randy Pribyl Honored: ![]() ◄ This picture is priceless. Click it for a larger view. That's Graceland in the background! Once open it is presented larger than normal for better viewing. Read the story behind this picture immediately below. Congratulations Randy! Club Member Randy Pribyl and his son Barrett traveled to Graceland in Memphis over Memorial Day weekend to the Elvis Presley Motor Classic Car Show. The 1st annual event covered four days and was attended by Bobby Allison and sponsored by Haggerty Insurance and Lowes Kobalt tools. This was a new event for Elvis Presley Enterprises and the response was so warm that they have decided to make it an annual event. About 250 cars of all descriptions came from many states. They hope for two thousand next year.
Randy was invited to be part of the program and delivered the Sunday
Morning Worship Service on the main show field. A similar service to what
he'll be delivering at our annual show and the GTOAA National Convention in
Wichita. The sermon was " How a cars shop manual and the Bible are similar and
why to read both". He also sang a Christian lyrics version of "Little GTO"
that he'll also be performing at the GTOAA convention and our
Indian Uprising all Pontiac show in
St. Charles, IL on Sunday
Aug. 1st.
Randy and Barrett were delighted to receive the Best Muscle Car award with
their '67 GTO hardtop and had a photo shoot of their car taken in front of
Elvis's home. The photo shows him and his son in the car with members of Elvis
Enterprises in the background. The award winning cars were the first ever
allowed to drive up in front of Elvis's home for a photo session.
