7.21 @ 196 MPH: September 2, 2006

He’s back! I am, of course, talking about Member Arnie Beswick. On September 2, 2006 Arnie did his first “event” run at Union Grove, WI (Da Grove). Arnie did run at Cordova a week earlier but he reportedly “took it pretty easy because he was checking out the bugs remaining in the car.” According to Crew Chief John Holmes “his 7.21 pass was his fastest since his accident.” Scroll Down To View Pictures!

Member Sylvia Heidlauf attended and sent along several pictures of this historic even. They appear on page 14 of this publication. Sylvia told me “I just had to share this with you because, for me, it was the greatest thing to see. In my eyes, drag racing is back where it should be." "Arnie ‘The Farmer’ Beswick is truly back with a vengeance.”  Later I spoke with Janette Holmes and she confirmed his elapse time and told me “Arnie typically turns times in the low 7 seconds. John is very confident Arnie will break into the 6’s soon and go well past 200 mile per hour.”

This Club is blessed in many ways but our connection to Arnie is special. He is a member, his Crew Chief John Holmes (and wife Janette) are members and member Jim Martino at Best of Show Restorations restored Arnie’s Tameless Tiger II  after his accident. We are very proud of our relationship with the entire Beswick Team. We all wish Arnie the best!
