Ever seen a Pontiac promotional Tiger Radio? Me either!

Kenny Moore lives in Iowa. Recently he visited this site and came

upon the page we call "Car Critters". A short time later he wrote

and told us about Tiger Radio he owned which was given to his

father many years ago as a Pontiac Motor Division promotional

item. He asked if we would be interested in pictures. The answer

was an emphatic yes!

Kenny tells us his father worked for Peterson Motors in Storm

Lake, Iowa from 1947 to 1966 working his way up in the Service

Department to become Head Mechanic. Reportedly Peterson

Motors had a shelf about 7 feet off the ground full of automobile

promotional items - it was something like 150 feet long. A real

hit with the kids. Apparently this Tiger Radio sat on that shelf

for many years. Kenny also told me that "his father remembers

they had a few of these tiger radios and placed some of them

in the rear window when they sold GTO's."

Peterson Motors went out of business about 12 years ago. The

owner, Carl Peterson, gave away most, if not all, these items.

Kenny's father turned 80 recently and has begun "liquidating".

One of the items he has NOT parted with is his Tiger Radio.

Kenny - many thanks for sharing this with us. Check out the

below pictures! If you want to contact Kenny write to him

at: kjmoore66@hotmail.com.
