Charity Efforts

The Cruisin’ Tigers have always felt strongly about donating money towards children's charities. “Tigers for Kids” was formed as a specialized charitable group with our club to create awareness amongst our members and organizations that support the club.

The Cruisin’ Tigers take charity seriously. The club donates a large sum of money each and every year to those in need. Most recently, United Cerebral Palsy was a recipient of close to $9000 with funds raised through The Indian Uprising. This effort including securing money from major show sponsors, soliciting the clubs membership, a special Illinois state issued license plate and other outside resources. Day of show fund raising contributions include  a 50/50 raffle, auctions of donated merchandise and show vendors donations.

This club also holds a special place for children in need at Christmas.

Here members Bob Zeiger (L) and Rick Last are pictured delivering a pickup truck full of toys to the Westmont Illinois Fire Department. Many thanks to the members who contributed to the cause this year.

With help from The United Way, The Cruisin’ Tigers adopt families that have fallen on hard times. Past donations to needy families include wrapped gifts for the kids under the tree, clothing and a large stock of non perishable items.

Over the years, the club has raised over tens of thousands of dollars for our selected charities. The club has been known to donate or coordinate other charity efforts. Long time friend of The Cruisin’ Tigers and club member Arnie “The Farmer’ Beswick was seriously injured in his race car when it caught fire during a run. The club quickly spearheaded an effort to collect donations to help Arnie get back on his feet. This effort spread quickly, and hundreds of fellow Pontiac enthusiasts helped collect money at car shows across the county. Arnie was presented with a check in the sum of $10,000 and a new racing suit at our November 2004 club meeting. When the car was ready, a Cruisin’ Tiger sponsor painted The Tameless Tiger II free of charge.

Please consider a donation. 100% of all funds collected through this website are donated to our selected charities.
